Our laboratory studies embryonic development and pattern formation using the fruit fly, Drosophila melanogaster, as a simple model system. Specific ongoing projects include: the regulation, function and evolution of the Hox protein Ftz and its partner, Ftz-F1; the role of the Drosophila insulin receptor in axon guidance; and screens for novel functions of DInR.
